Symptoms
When manually installing an agent using the STPlatformUpdater.exe, the registration might state it is successful, but then fail to check in and no Policy has been assigned.
Associated Errors:
Within the STAgentUpdater.log the following error may be present in this situation.
Version 9:
Vista & Later - C:\ProgramData\LANDesk\Shavlik Protect\Logs
Earlier OS’s - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LANDesk\Shavlik Protect\Logs
Version 8:
Vista & Later - C:\ProgramData\Shavlik Technologies\Logs

Failed to connect to 'https:/[MACHINE NAME]:[AGENT PORT]/ST/Console/AgentState/V81' with agent base proxy credentials. Error: class STServiceModel::Wws::CWebServiceException at TrustChannel.cpp:46: (null) Error detail: There was an error communicating with the endpoint at 'https://[MACHINE NAME]:[AGENT PORT]/ST/Console/STS/ConsoleSTS'. The given proxy cannot be reached. |
Possible Causes:
Consoles and Agents must be within 2 minutes of one another or it can create issues in communications between the two.
Try correcting the Date/Time so they are within 2 minutes of one another and attempt to have the agent check in again.
